This page will help you create your own list of interesting
hyperlinks that you will be able to save and use anytime you want. Or post it to DocuShare and have access to it at
anytime.
How to:
Go up to File in your web browser and choose New Web Browser Window or click on the
button below. This will make it so that you can have access to this page and still look at
other pages on the internet.
Using one of the windows, find the first site that you want on your list.
Highlight the URL,
internet address, in the address/location bar in your web browser.
Go up to Edit on
your main menu and choose copy.
Go down to your
task bar at the bottom of the screen and click on the button for your second web window.
(OR to the upper right hand corner if you are on a MAC and pull down the menu.)
Click in the Web
Site box. Then go up to the Edit option on your menu bar and choose paste.
Click in the
Description box and type in a brief description of this web site.
Click on Add to
HyperList. If you don't have a valid web address or didn't include the http:// at
the beginning you will receive an error message. (You also need to make sure the http://
is lowercase.)
Repeat steps 2-7
until you have all the sites you want on your list. (Make sure you click add to list after
your last selection.)
Once you have
entered all your sites, enter a title for your page and click on the Create HyperList
button.
This will open a
new window with your list created.
FOR
NETSCAPE USERS
In this window, go up to the File menu option and choose save.
Give the file a name and you have now generated your list in HTML. FOR INTERNET EXPLORER USERS
In this window, go up to the View menu and choose Source.
A new window will appear. Go up to the File option and choose save.
Give the file a name and MAKE SURE YOU END THE FILE NAME WITH .html
You have now generated your list in HTML.
You will be able
to open up the file in your web browser and use it as you would any other web page.
OR You can upload it to DocuShare and have access to it at anytime.
